  • Description

St Wilfrid’s Hospice has cared for over 15,500 terminally-ill patients since it was first registered as a charity in 1982. The construction of a new hospice is timed for completion by the hospice’s 30th anniversary, in November 2013. The new hospice is a modern, purpose-built facility with 20 private bedrooms with ensuites, landscaped gardens, day care facilities, therapy rooms and space for further expansion if required. There are extensive facilities for families and friends visiting inpatients, including private accommodation and lounge facilities. Public areas will also be available including a coffee shop and a chapel. The hospice will provide a well-being clinic including a physiotherapy gym, therapy and treatment rooms, a suite for creative and group activities, plus offices and dedicated training facilities.

Avonline Flooring completed the flooring for the entire building covering around 3,000m2 and included bespoke carpet pattern designs. A bespoke printed carpet was specified and this presented challenges in successfully fitting the different batches that were delivered.
